Musculoskeletal Pain among Work from Home Population during the COVID-19 Pandemic - A Cross Sectional Study

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns had brought many changes in working patterns of people. Work from home, which has been becoming new normal is suspected to increase prevalence musculoskeletal disorders stress. Aim: To assess pain among work home population hence bring required ergonomics. Methods Materials: This a cross-sectional study, conducted urban (IT employees) Chengalpattu district. A total 180 participants were included study. Standardized Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire, adapted fit current study was used as self-administered online questionnaire collect data participants. Results: Prevalence found be 84% with low backache being most common pain. Around 50% either an (18.9%) or reported that started only during lockdown (30.6%). Majority (55.6%) more than 8 hours per day, may attributed Perceived stress levels increased period. Conclusion: absence ergonomic office furniture lead faulty posture increasing pain, awareness on factors like right posture, using should ensured population. By bringing out ergonomics for population, can reduced.
